The attorneys of FWH&L are experts in their field and have prepared and filed all forms of federal, state and local tax returns.  The returns include income tax returns, estate tax returns, gift tax returns and inheritance tax returns.  Our attorneys have worked with clients, accountants, insurance agents, actuaries and other professionals in order to provide counsel that assists clients in obtaining the best net tax result for their operations and in transactional matters.

We have handled trust and estate matters from planning, administration and preparation to the filing of inheritance tax returns, gift tax returns and federal estate tax returns. We have designed Grantor Trusts, Special Needs Trusts, Dynasty Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, Charitable Remainder Trusts and Qualified Personal Residence Trusts.

Our attorneys have handled 1031 exchanges and reverse 1031 exchanges saving large amounts of capital gain taxes.  The individual taxpayers then retain the new asset until death and receive a step up in basis so that the entire capital gain is never taxed.
