Over 35 years of experience practicing labor and employment law for employers of all sizes, public and private. 

Provides a full range of labor and employment law advice and training to private and public employer clients, including numerous municipal employers in Northampton, Lehigh and Monroe Counties.  The subject matters encompass the full range of labor and employment law matters, including EEO matters, NLRB representation and ULP matters, wage and hour matters, FMLA and other leave matters, employee policies and manuals, OSHA and other safety matters, employee discipline and termination matters, employment and severance agreements, and non-compete and restrictive covenants.

Extensive experience in conducting collective bargaining negotiations, usually as the chief negotiator, representing employers in grievance arbitrations, and both presenting to and sitting as public employers’ interest arbitrator in Act 111 and Act 195 interest arbitrations. 

Dealt with the full range of possible County bargaining units, including court-appointed units, court-related units, residual units, meet and discuss units, professional and non-professional units, corrections and nursing home units.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS

Dealt with a great many of the labor arbitrators who typically appear on lists proffered by the American Arbitration Association’s Philadelphia Regional Office and the Pennsylvania Bureau of Mediation.  He has also dealt with the state mediators typically assigned to negotiations in this area.  Additionally, he has dealt with, and maintained a good working relationship with, the principal union locals representing public employees in this area, including PSSU, SEIU, AFSCME, UFCW, USW, and Teamsters.

Regularly represents private and public employers in discrimination claims before the EEOC and the PHRC. 

Appeared before the State Civil Service Commission, and represented counties and municipalities in representation and unfair labor practice matters before the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board.
