A
Lehigh Valley
native, Scott C. Heckman was born and raised in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
In 1986, Scott graduated from Brown University Phi Beta
Kappa, Magna Cum Laude and with High Honors and a Bachelor of
Arts degree in History.
In 1989, Scott received his Juris Doctor degree from
Columbia University School of Law, where he was a Harlan Fiske
Stone Scholar.
Prior to
joining Flamm, Boroff & Bacine, PC, Scott practiced in Heimbach,
Spitko & Heckman, a management labor and employment firm, since
its founding in 1992.
He has practiced exclusively in management side labor and
employment law since his admission to the bar in 1989.
Scott will be principally based in the Firm’s
Lehigh Valley office located in the Westfield Corporate
Center, 4905 West Tilghman Street, Allentown, PA.
Scott
represents a full range of private and public sector employers.
His private-sector clients range from large health care
entities and financial institutions to a variety of non-profit
organizations in multiple fields.
He is admitted to practice in courts of the
Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania and in
the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle
Districts of Pennsylvania.
Scott is a
frequent speaker on a variety of labor and employment topics
through local employer groups such as the Society of Human
Resource Management, Carbon County Employer Advisory Council and
various Chambers of Commerce, as well as professional
associations such as the Pennsylvania Library Association,
National Propane Gas Association, among others.
Scott also has presented in-house training for his
clients on a full range of topics ranging from sexual
harassment, union avoidance, ADA/FMLA compliance and supervisor
training on performance/conduct documentation.
Scott
currently is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
He is active with local Chambers, including the Lehigh
Valley Chamber of Commerce. Scott serves as Co-Chair of the
Human Resource Committee of the Pocono Mountains Chamber of
Commerce.
Scott is also
active in his community, serving as youth coach for multiple CYO
and community league teams.
Through the years, he has served on the Board of
Directors of various non-profit organizations such as the
Nazareth YMCA and UCP of the Lehigh Valley.
Scott is also active with Brown Alumni Service Committee,
which interviews applicants for admission to the university.
Scott and his wife, Georgine, a veterinarian, live in
Nazareth, Pennsylvania, with their two daughters.
